The Frozen Light Singularity
The Frozen Light Singularity is the cornerstone of temporal theft. Created by Luca Eschendorf in 1588 Venice, this device siphons temporal energy directly from the flow of time, storing it within a crystalline matrix. It cannot create time—only redirect it—and critically, it cannot access events prior to its own creation year. The biological toll for its use is absolute and unforgiving.
The 10:1 Temporal Toll
Every ten temporal years consumed extracts one biological year from the user. This universal rule was first recorded with an unknown 17th-century operative who aged four decades in a single jump. There is no known method to bypass or reduce the toll. The most documented case is Kai Eschendorf, who has lived 115 calendar years but appears 28—carrying 87 years of biological debt.

Heir to the Eschendorf temporal empire, Kai appears 28 but has lived 115 years. He is currently navigating the collapse of the family enterprise under the weight of accumulated temporal debt and Scar Zone degradation.
Alvise Eschendorf (born Matteo)
The original antagonist, Alvise murdered his brother Luca in 1588 and stole the Frozen Light Singularity. Born around 1545 in Venice, he died of natural causes circa 1650, having established the foundations of temporal capitalism.
Voss
A jump technician specializing in temporal navigation and Scar Zone surveying. Voss operates in the fray of decaying causality, mapping eddies and residues where time itself is frayed.
The Scar Zone
Formed gradually from the early 1800s onward due to industrial-scale temporal extraction, the Scar Zone is a region where time flows inconsistently. Cause and effect degrade; temporal eddies, chronal residue, and pockets of reversed causality make it a permanent and hazardous reality.
